Seminars at the London Book Fair 2012

This year’s London Book Fair has a wealth of events and seminars available to anyone with a ticket to the event. Here’s a brief round-up of sessions organised by APE members.

London College of Communication Publishing Studies student Gabriela Sanchez-Curiel is to showcase her new international publishing enterprise in the Innovation, Translated: A Global Snapshot of Today’s Publishing Innovators session on Wednesday 18 April, 14.30-15.30 in the Thames Room.

Alison Baverstock, Course Leader at Kingston University is chairing Should the Publishing Industry Be Frightened of Self Publishing? on Wednesday 18 April, 14.30-15.30 in the Wellington Room.

Mary Ann Kernan from City University is co-hosting with the Diversity in Publishing Network a seminar on Your Job in Publishing: Recruitment and Retention in Publishing on Tuesday 17 April, 11.30-12.30 in the Wellington Room.

Stirling University Publishing Studies department celebrates its 30th birthday with Publishing Scotland on Tuesday 17 April on stand H350 at 5.30. With whisky.

Creative Skillset is running The Core Skills of Digital Publishing: will you make standard seminar? on Monday 16 April, 11.30-12.30 in the Wellington Room and Power to the Story: pitching cross-media concepts also on Monday, 4.00-5.00 pm in the International Rights Centre.

Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies at Oxford Brookes are running three seminars: Children’s Publishing Around the World – Wednesday 18 April 2.30-3.30 in the Westminster room; Managing the Change to a Sustainable Future – Monday 16 April 10.00-11.00 in the Wellington room; and Twitter to Woo? The benefits of social media on Wednesday 18 April at 11.30 in the Wellington room. 

Publishing Training Centre are running Digital Publishing Production: There’s method in the madness seminar at Monday 16 April 5:30 in the Cromwell room and Creating E-books: the pleasure + the pain on Tuesday 17 April 2.30-3.30 in the Cromwell room.
