The winners of the first ever UK APE Dissertation Prizes have been announced to coincide with theLondon Book Fair 2010. Two prizes were awarded, one at undergraduate level, a second at Masters’ level, and each winner receives a cheque for £250.
Laura Kincaid of Edinburgh Napier University wins at undergraduate level for ‘Are publishers in control? An examination of the power dynamics of UK consumer trade publishers’ relationships with Amazon’, and Jennie Courage of UCL wins at Masters’ level with ‘Making e-books easy for everyone to read – Accessibility and the visually impaired’.
The judges – John Whitley of the PTC (Chair), Martin Neild, Lynette Owen and Simon Winder – commented on the high standard of submission.
